Books with a “Borrow” button on the Archive are under copyright. Readers with a print disability can get them in braille legally and free through Bookshare, the Library of Congress’s NLS, or the Archive’s own print-disabled access program. Brailpack converts the millions of books that need no permission at all.

What you get

A .brf file: a title page, then numbered pages with two-cell paragraph indents and centred headings, translated by liblouis, the same engine inside most screen readers. Open it on a braille display or send it to an embosser.
